This country is people by people of the black race. They are mostly Bantu.

This nation was annexed by France in the 1880s. There was much fighting at this time. French is still the official language.

In the late 1940s there was a revolt against colonial rule. There was a large scale massacre by the French Army.

Madagascar became an independent republic in 1960.

This country has four colours on its flag.

There is a day of the dead in this nation. People exhume the bones of their dead relatives. The bones are carried around town and introduced to people.
