she cannot be stigmatise as a folk devil

media constructs a narrative around an issue – a consensus

Betts’ dad was a policeman

bettss family changed their attitude to drugs. dad said telling people not to take drugs did not work . one had to give people more info

she was young white and pretty which was why she became well known; photo of her just after death

one has to tell the truth that the drug is fun
