David Cameron has said that corruption is rife in Nigeria and Afghanistan. Can this be possible? They are both intensely religious countries. Surely religious zealots are never dishonest. They do not hoodwink people neither do they deceive themselves.
No, no but seriously folks some people of those nationalities have taken exception to what Cameron said. A lot of filthy money gets channeled into the UK. There would be more eclat for Cameron if he were to prevent purloined funds from being spent in the United Kingdom. The trouble is that would slow the housing market and the overall economy. It is easy to get on one’s moral high horse. It is another matter to insist that one’s countrymen make sacrifices no live up to these platitudes.
One has to feel sorry for the much put upon peoples of Afghanistan and Nigeria. They are the ones being ripped off by their elites. Not every elitist from these two countries is involved in graft though.
