Legal Consequences of the Construction of a WALL in the Occupied Palestinian Territory


2004 case.

ICJ ruled it has the right to issue the advisory opinion.

The wall is illegal.

Israel must dismantle the wall and repeal legislation to build it and desist from all acts preparatory to further construction

States must not recognise the illegal situation created by the wall.

4th Geneva convention is pertinent here

The wall seized Palestinian land.
