Redfearn v Serco Ltd

Refearn was an excleltn bus driver. He was also a BNP councillor.

His company tried to retire him on specious health and safety grounds

He said he was discriminated against because of his political beliefs

His right to his freedom of assocation had been infringed – said the ECHR but not his political beliefs

the bus company was getting rid of him because of his BNP membership. this was because they were trying to promote equaluty and they said the BNP was against this

therefore a company may refuse to hire someone due to their opinions
